PERFUMED PRINCES, 2023

Perfumed Princes, 2022.png

“Perfumed Princes” presents a surreal, futurized reimagining of the infamous Natalie Wood true crime story. Within the narrative, it is framed as an A.I.-generated theatrical series, seamlessly blending history and fiction into a branded spectacle sponsored by Sotheby’s and Yves Saint Laurent. The story unfolds in a speculative future where artificial intelligence enables the casting of anyone—past, present, or imagined—into any kind of theatrical production, transforming storytelling into a highly curated, consumer-driven art form.

Outside the narrative, this piece serves as a commentary on the evolving role of technology in art and entertainment. It imagines a world where such uncanny mashups are normalized, highlighting the collision of creativity, commodification, and the unsettling possibilities of A.I. in rewriting cultural legacies. While “Perfumed Princes” may appear bizarre and disjointed to us now, it gestures toward a future where the boundaries between reality, performance, and brand identity dissolve entirely.
